About Ariat
Beth Cross and Pam Parker founded Ariat in California in 1993 with a simple idea: build a riding boot the way an athletic shoe is built. They launched with two styles.
The heart of it is ATS, a gel-cushioned footbed with a heel stabiliser sitting over a lightweight composite shank. Work boots followed in 1998 and the Fatbaby in 2001. The name comes from Secretariat.

Ariat is what we hand to somebody who is on their feet all day and has never found a western boot that did not hurt by four o'clock. It is the widest line we carry, and the one we know best.
