About Carhartt

Hamilton Carhartt started in 1889 in Detroit with two sewing machines and a handful of workers, making bib overalls for railroad men. He asked the railroaders themselves what was failing on the job, then built the garment around the answer. That is still how the line works.

Firm-hand duck, triple-stitched main seams, rivets where the stress lands. Nothing on a Carhartt garment is there to be looked at.

We stock the pieces that move here in Kansas City: the chore coats, the bibs, the hoodies and the flame-resistant work line.
Carhartt is the one line where the customer already knows what they want before they walk in. Our job is to have the right size on the shelf, and to tell them straight when a different piece will hold up better.
