About Panhandle Slim

Panhandle Slim goes back to 1946, when brothers Martin and Ernest Hochster started Westmoor Manufacturing making work shirts for farmers and loggers. Within a few years they had built their first western shirt, and a salesman in Amarillo gave the line the name that stuck: Panhandle Slim. The company settled in Fort Worth in 1975, and the Hochster family still runs it today.

The line covers the whole ranch-to-town range. Rough Stock brings bold prints and snap fronts built for the arena, Panhandle's women's line adds sweaters, blouses and dresses with plenty of western detail, and the classic men's snap and button shirts are made to be worn hard.

Nigro's has been dressing Kansas City cowboys and cowgirls since 1973. Panhandle Slim is a family brand with nearly as long a history as ours, and it belongs on our wall.
Panhandle is the shirt our customers' dads and granddads wore, and it still fits the way a western shirt should. Come see the new Rough Stock prints in person.
