About Peyote Bird Designs
Peyote Bird Designs began in 1974, when Mark Alexander started trading Santo Domingo heishi and Navajo silverwork on a college road trip through the Southwest. He and his wife Martha went on to sell handcrafted jewelry across the country before building their own collections in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their daughter Amanda leads the company today.
Peyote Bird works with Native American and independent artisans, many of them for decades, among them silversmith Joe Eby, Steve and Brenda Lampman, and Mary and Gerard Calabaza. Alongside their work you will find vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces, all turquoise, coral and shell set in sterling silver by hand.
We brought Peyote Bird to Nigro's for customers who want the real thing. Every piece in our case is genuine turquoise, from hat bands and brim slides for your favourite hat to earrings, rings, bolo ties and concho belts.
