SpurWest

SpurWest started the way a lot of good western brands do, with not much money and a fair amount of nerve. Founder Kipp grew up barrel racing on a rural Georgia farm, and at twenty put the last of a savings account into a t-shirt press, some blanks and an old horse trailer, then went out selling graphic tees at rodeos and barrel races.

The idea that changed everything was a simple one. A belt buckle is what you win, and then it sits in a drawer. What if you could wear one every day? Working with co-designer Michael, Kipp shrank a full-size buckle down to 22mm and hung it on a chain. The Mini Belt Buckle Necklace launched in July 2023, and in February 2024 a video of it broke through and pulled in millions of views. SpurWest has been growing ever since.

We picked SpurWest up in the fall of 2025 and it went straight to the front of the jewelry case. The initial necklaces are on constant reorder, and customers who come in for their own letter tend to come back for their kids'. Every piece is made for daily wear: jewelry-grade stainless steel, rhodium or 10K heavy gold plating, and a SpurWest Shield™ coating that keeps it from tarnishing.
