R. Watson Men's Size Guide

R. Watson Men's

R. Watson runs about a half size large.

Their own words: “Most people will drop down a half of a size in our brand.” If you normally wear a 10 in another western boot, start with a 9½ here.

Measure your foot from heel to toe and compare to the chart below.

Widths we carry

Width Fit
D Standard width
EE Wide

Most R. Watson men's boots are stocked in both D and EE. If you wear a wide in other brands, order the EE.

How a pair should feel

R. Watson's own fitting checks, in their words:

  • The pop. “When you pull the boots on for the first time, you give them a little tug. If you don't feel and hear a ‘pop’ noise when putting them on, there's a good chance they may be too big.”
  • The ball of your foot “should sit exactly in the widest part of the sole.”
  • Across the instep, it should feel like “a firm handshake.”
  • At the heel, “your heel should feel lifted in the back of the boot when walking. Up to half an inch of slippage is okay.”
