Schaefer Outfitter Size Guide
Schaefer Outfitter
Cut for working horseback, not for standing still.
Schaefer’s own description: the line is “cut to accommodate an active Western lifestyle,” with a riding sleeve — deliberately longer than a dress sleeve, so your wrist isn’t exposed when your arms come forward in the saddle. That’s why the sleeve numbers below look long. They’re meant to.

Fitting notes
- Vests run closer to the body than the jackets do. Schaefer build them that way on purpose, so a vest works as an insulating layer under a coat as well as on its own.
- Layering a brush jacket or coat? Size by your chest measurement as published, then consider the next size up if you plan to wear it over a vest or a heavy flannel all winter. The jackets are already cut with some room, but not that much.
- Measure the chest under the arms, across the fullest part, with the tape level and a shirt on.
All figures are Schaefer Outfitter’s own published measurements.
