Carhartt Women’s
Size to the largest part of your body, and go up when you land between sizes.
That is Carhartt’s own wording on bibs and coveralls — “Size to the largest part of your body” — and the rest of the line follows the same rule: “If your measurement falls between sizes, buy the larger size.” Their bib measurements “assume bib overall is worn with a shirt and undergarments,” so if you plan to layer over pants, jackets or sweats, they say you may need to size up again.
Tops, sweatshirts, bibs, overalls and coveralls
Carhartt publish the same body measurements for all of these. Numbered sizes in brackets are the equivalent misses sizes.

Coveralls run on the same figures but Carhartt only publish them to 2XL — there are no Plus sizes on the coverall chart. Relaxed Fit “allows the most ease over body”; Original Fit is “roomy for a comfortable fit.”
Pants
Carhartt’s women’s pants chart uses the same natural waist and hip figures as the table above, with two differences: X-Small is listed as size (2) rather than (0–2), and 2XL is a single 40¼″ waist and 48½″ hip rather than a range. So read your waist and hip off the table above and you’ll be right.
Length. Short is a 29–30″ inseam, Regular 31–32″, Tall 33–34″. Between two, Carhartt say buy the longer. All four pant fits — Fitted, Slim, Straight and Loose — are mid-rise and sit just below the waist; they differ only in how close they run through the hip and thigh.
Classic jackets
Jackets are the one place Carhartt tell women to go down, not up.
Their words: “If you prefer a slimmer fit or are between sizes, try sizing down.” That is the opposite of the rule on everything else, and it is the mistake we see most often. The jacket chart below is also its own set of numbers — single measurements, not the ranges used above.
