Between two sizes? Kimes say take the smaller one.
Their own words: “If you’re in between sizes or on the cusp, we recommend going with the smaller size in Kimes Ranch jeans.” They add that “Jeans that are made with 99% cotton have less stretch and rebound than our tri-blend denim styles” — so a raw, all-cotton pair will give less than a stretch pair will.

Kimes publish a separate chart for every fit, and the numbers are the jean’s own measurements, not your body. The figures below are all taken at a tag size 32 so you can compare like with like.

A 32 is not a 32 in every Kimes fit.
Look down the waist column above. A Cal 32 measures 35″ round the waist; a Watson 32 measures 32″. Same number on the tag, three inches apart on the tape. Pick the fit first, then read that fit’s own waist figure — never assume your Kimes size carries across.
