Durango Men’s

Durango run true to size.

Their own words: “Durango® boots fit true to size.” Order the size you normally wear. Durango add that you should try boots on later in the day, because “feet tend to swell during the day”, and wear “socks that you would normally wear to account for fit”.

The women’s column is Durango’s own cross-reference, useful if you wear a men’s boot in a women’s size. Dashes are cells Durango leave blank on their chart.

Widths: D (medium) and EE (wide), shown on our site as D/M and EE/W. Most Durango men’s boots we stock come in both. A few — the brown harness boot among them — are made in D only, so check the width selector on the product page.

What a good fit feels like

Check	Durango’s guidance
Pulling on	“You should have a little resistance and need to pull slightly.”
Heel	“Some degree of heel slippage is normal in cowboy boots, but it shouldn’t be excessive.”
Ball of foot	“The ball of your foot should rest at the widest part of the boot’s forepart.”
Instep	Snug around the instep and ball of the foot, but “not uncomfortably tight”.
Toes	“Aim for about ½″ – 1″ of space between your longest toe and the boot’s tip.”

Lines and what changes

Line	What affects fit
Rebel	Removable cushion footbed over an EVA midsole. D and EE.
Rebel Pro	Resolable ¾ Goodyear welt and a Dually Shank. Built on a Stockman or a Roughstock heel — the heel shape differs, the sizing does not. D and EE.
Westward	X-Pand System™ “for easy on/off” and the Advanced Comfort System Footbed™. Square toe, 11″ shaft, 2″ heel, 15″ calf.
Maverick XP	Work boots, offered with a steel, composite or soft toe. D and EE.
Harness	Snoot toe, 11″ shaft, 2″ heel, leather lined, Cushion Flex insole. Side tabs to pull on.

Sizes and fit guidance above come from Durango’s own size guide and their cowboy boot fit article on durangoboots.com. Three gaps worth knowing: Durango do not publish a foot-length-in-inches chart, only the conversions above; they publish no separate sizing rule for steel or composite toe boots, so we won’t invent one; and calf circumference is listed style by style on each product page rather than in a chart. A few styles run half sizes above 13 that Durango’s chart does not carry a conversion for. Widths listed are the ones we stock.
